Expected Commitment
Flexible

The Singapore Leaders Network (SGLN) Community Mentoring Programme aspires to support the personal and professional growth of Singaporeans in this network. Through the programme, we also hope to create meaningful 1:1 connections between network members, help them develop their social capital, and support their leadership journey.

Programme Outline

This is a structured mentorship programme (with limited places) that will take place over 6 months, from April 2025 to September 2025. Mentors and mentees are expected to meet for a minimum of 3 sessions.

Mentors and mentees are expected to be responsive in the programme evaluation component of the programme. This includes but is not limited to: recording down arranged mentoring sessions and providing progress updates and feedback on survey forms. Further group sessions (online or in-person) may be organised and will be compulsory as part of the mentorship programme.

Programme
Mentee Profile

We welcome mentees from all industries – we are looking for mentees who are willing to get out of their comfort zones, take reasonable risks and take responsibility for their own learnings and career paths. Effective mentees are open minded, motivated, and committed.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You are a Singapore citizen.

  • You have minimally worked for 3 years or more.

  • You are looking to be mentored in the following topic areas:

    • Display new perspectives and motivation to seek out regional/global job exposures to prepare for global leadership roles

    • Embrace a complex, ambiguous environment

    • Create and leverage networks and communicate with clarity and ‘heart’ for impact

    • Embrace and manage diversity by being sensitive to the cultural context and exercising cultural flexibility

  • You have not been part of the previous programme run as a mentee.

  • You are able to commit to completing at least 3 sessions with your assigned mentor.

Why be a mentee?

Mentoring is a special partnership between two people based on commitment to the mentoring process, common goals/expectations of the partnership, and mutual trust and respect. It is a “get and give” experience with the goal of providing a rich and rewarding experience for both.

At SGLN, we believe that mentees need to take charge of their own personal/professional development with the benefit of a mentor who will share their personal experiences, insights, and perspectives. Other benefits can include:

  • Developing a sharper and more strategic focus on areas of professional development

  • Developing yourself as “learner” by adopting a continuous learning mindset with active investments in personal growth

  • Developing communication skills through personalised guidance across different interaction contexts

  • Cross-learning opportunities through sharing of experiences and insights that can enrich both mentee and mentor

Mentor Profile

We welcome mentors of all nationalities and from all industries – the programme aims to gather collective learnings from the career journeys of our mentors to support the growth and development of mentees in our community.
